Freshfields acts for Fresenius on €5.76bn Quirónsalud acquisition

Freshfields advised healthcare company Fresenius and its subsidiary Helios Kliniken on the €5.76 billion acquisition of Quirónsalud from CVC.

Quirónsalud’s network comprises 43 hospitals, 39 outpatient centers and around 300 occupational risk prevention centers. The company has about 35,000 employees.

For 2016, Quirónsalud expects sales of approximately €2.5 billion and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of €460 million. In 2017, EBITDA is expected to be in the range of €520 to €550 million.

The Madrid-based Freshfields partners advising on the deal included Javier Monzón, Ben Spiers, Silvia Paternain and Francisco Cantos.

The team also included counsels Ignacio Borrego and Bosco Montejo, as well as associates Reka Pallá, Lucía Quiroga, Paloma de Carlos, Ana Calvo, Enrique Carrera, Raquel Domínguez, and Carlos Camarena.
