Francisco Javier Ramón joins Toda & Nel-lo as partner

Toda & Nel-lo has hired Francisco Javier Ramón as a partner in its administrative and regulatory law practice. A former judge, Ramón brings more than 25 years’ experience in administrative law, with a strong focus on urban planning, energy and administrative litigation. He joins from BDO Abogados.

He joins the firm together with a two-lawyer team: Mario Chaparro, who comes on board as counsel, and Éric López, as senior associate. Chaparro will also assume responsibility for developing Toda & Nel-lo’s Sports Law practice.

The appointment in the firm’s Madrid office “underlines the firm’s ambition to expand its public law capabilities and deliver increasingly specialised advice in complex regulatory matters”, states the law firm.

Over the course of his career, Ramón has built a solid reputation both on the bench and in private practice, leading technically demanding cases. His expertise spans administrative litigation, public procurement and State liability.

Commenting on the appointment, Ignacio Toda, founding partner and co-head of the firm’s public law practice, said that Ramón’s arrival “marks a decisive step in our national growth strategy. His reputation and deep expertise in public law considerably strengthen our ability to advise on highly complex matters.”

José María Buxeda, partner in the corporate and M&A practice and a member of the executive committee, added that “the addition of Francisco Javier Ramón and his team not only reinforces our public and regulatory law offering, but also allows us to deepen our capabilities in areas such as sports law and energy. This move aligns perfectly with our growth and specialisation strategy and comes at a key moment in the execution of our strategic plan.”
