Fernando Martínez Comas joins KPMG Abogados

KPMG Abogados has strengthened its team with the appointment of Fernando Martínez Comas as the new partner responsible for the firm’s legal practice in the Balearic Islands and as the head of tourism for KPMG Spain.

Martínez Comas joins from Deloitte, where he previously led Deloitte Tax & Legal in the Balearic Islands. He also served as a corporate law partner at Deloitte Legal and was the national head of the tourism, hospitality, and leisure practice within the firm’s tax and legal division.

With more than 25 years of experience in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, Martínez Comas has advised major national and international hotel chains, as well as leading groups operating in the tourism sector. Additionally, he was responsible for private wealth and non-listed companies within Deloitte Global.

His career began at Garrigues before joining Deloitte, where he has worked for the past 15 years.

Alberto Estrelles, managing partner of KPMG Abogados, emphasized that Martínez Comas’s arrival will reinforce and enhance the firm’s team in the Balearic Islands, “a strategic region for key sectors such as tourism and real estate.” He further highlighted that “his appointment underscores our commitment to growth in the region.”

Estrelles also noted that Martínez Comas’s expertise in corporate law and M&A, combined with his deep knowledge of the tourism sector, will enable KPMG to continue providing tailored solutions to its clients in this field.

This appointment is part of KPMG Abogados’ broader strategy to expand its presence in the Balearic Islands, where it also benefits from the support of Javier del Hoyo, head of the firm’s tax division in the region.
