Federico Belausteguigoitia, Andersen’s new co-head of M&A

Andersen has appointed its partner Federico Belausteguigoitia de la Cruz as the new co-head of the M&A practice in Spain and Portugal, a role he will perform jointly with Ivo Portabales, partner at the firm. In this new role, Belausteguigoitia will co-lead a team of 112 professionals across Iberia, 34 of whom are partners.

Federico Belausteguigoitia has been with Andersen since 2022. He has more than 20 years of experience advising Spanish and international companies on corporate and commercial transactions. Commenting on the appointment, José Vicente Morote, managing partner, highlighted that “Federico Belausteguigoitia has outstanding professional qualities, a solid track record, and extensive experience in complex corporate transactions, which will be key to further strengthening the positioning of this highly strategic practice.”

Ignacio Aparicio, executive partner of Andersen and until now co-head of the department, hands over the baton to Federico Belausteguigoitia. José Vicente Morote underscored that, under Aparicio’s initial leadership and later alongside Ivo Portabales, the department surpassed €20 million in revenue in 2025.
