Fabio Virzi, new litigation and arbitration partner at Ecija

Ecija has hired Fabio Virzi, formerly of Cases & Lacambra, as a new partner in its litigation and arbitration practice in Madrid. With this addition, the firm now has 230 partners and more than 1,500 professionals in 18 countries.

Virzi has nearly 20 years of experience advising domestic and international clients on contractual and non-contractual disputes, as well as cases of unfair competition, corporate disputes, directors’ liability and disputes between partners and shareholders. He is particularly noted for his experience in financial litigation, as well as disputes related to the construction and insurance sectors, and disputes related to M&A and private equity transactions.

Virzi has also developed a solid practice in arbitration, representing large national and international groups in proceedings before institutions such as the ICC, the Madrid Court of Arbitration and the TAB, and has also been appointed as an arbitrator in disputes relating to business law.

The new partner at Ecija has combined his professional work with teaching at the IE Law School, where he has taught dispute resolution courses in the Master’s Degree in Transnational Business Law and the Master’s Degree in Corporate Legal Advice.

Background

Virzi holds a law degree and a master’s degree from ESADE (Ramón Llull University) and an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Law from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues. He is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association, the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club (CEiA) and is part of the Steering Committee of the Italian Chapter of the CEiA, as well as being a member of the Spanish Business Litigation Club.
