EY Abogados welcomes Alejandro Gil as employment law partner
EY Abogados has appointed Alejandro Gil, formerly of Maio Legal, as a partner in its Barcelona office, headed by Simeón García-Nieto. With more than 13 years’ experience advising national and international companies, Gil strengthens the firm’s employment practice in Catalonia, bringing with him expertise in legal and employment advice and human resources policies.

Alejandro Gil
A native of Barcelona, Alejandro Gil holds a law degree from Pompeu Fabra University and a master’s degree in law from the Instituto Superior de Empresa and another master’s degree in labour law from ISDE. He has developed his career at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo and Maio Legal, the firm he comes from and where he has been a partner in charge of the labour area. His experience includes advising Ibex 35 companies, SMEs and multinationals in sectors such as banking, energy, automotive, food and hospitality.
The new partner at EY Abogados has extensive experience in legal and labour advice, particularly in corporate restructuring processes involving litigation, reductions in working hours, collective redundancies and substantial changes in working conditions, collective bargaining and the termination of senior management contracts. He has been involved in complex litigation in labour courts and in operations related to mergers, acquisitions and business succession.
