EY Abogados appoints Marcos Piñeiro as equity partner
EY Abogados has appointed Marcos Piñeiro as equity partner in Galicia. He has more than 19 years’ experience in corporate taxation and family business advisory in the region, advising Galician companies on their growth, professionalisation and internationalisation processes.
Pelayo Novoa, partner in charge of EY’s offices in Galicia, highlighted: “Marcos’s promotion recognises a career marked by technical rigour, close client relationships and a deep understanding of the Galician business fabric. His leadership will be key to continuing to support Galician companies at a time of transformation and international expansion.”
According to Adolfo Zunzunegui, managing partner of EY Abogados: “Galicia is a region with its own dynamism and increasingly sophisticated business sectors. Marcos’s experience and close ties to this environment allow him to bring unique value to Galician companies and to support this development from EY Abogados, at a time when the region is experiencing a period of strong economic and business momentum.”
Marcos Piñeiro joined EY in 2017. Since then, he has driven the growth of the tax and legal area in the region through close and specialised support for Galician companies in their expansion and internationalisation processes, states EY.
In addition, he lectures at business schools such as IESIDE, UIE and IFFE Business School—where he coordinates the Master’s in Tax and Accounting Advisory—as well as at various public universities in Galicia, actively contributing to attracting, promoting and developing local talent. He holds a Law degree (Economic and Business track) from the University of Vigo and has specialised training in tax advisory and business law.
