EY Abogados advises Portobello Capital on the acquisition of HFI

EY Abogados has advised Portobello Capital on the acquisition, by its portfolio company Ramón Sabater, of the Hungarian company Hungarian Food Ingredients (HFI), a leading Hungarian producer of premium dried herbs, vegetables, and fruits, supplying leading global food and supplement brands. HFI focuses on organic production, sustainability, and rigorous quality control.

The firm provided comprehensive legal, tax and labour services throughout the transaction. The multidisciplinary team was led by Susana Gómez Badiola (Corporate/M&A Partner), Carmen Esteban (Corporate/M&A Director), Manuel Herrero (Corporate/M&A Manager) and Diego Martinez – Costa (Corporate/M&A Associate), who provided legal advice at all stages of the transaction. Furthermore, EY Hungary ‘s legal team, led by Ivan SeferDenes Csoba, and Greta Karvalics, also provided legal assistance throughout all stages of the deal.

The tax aspects of the deal were advised by Manuel Paz Figueiras and José Enrique Padilla Garcia (Tax Partners), while Raúl García (Labour Partner) and Nicolas Chacón (Labour Senior Manager) advised on employment-related matters.
