Eversheds Sutherland’s new leadership in Portugal

Eversheds Sutherland has appointed a new board of directors in Portugal for the 2026–2028 term. The new board is composed of Gonçalo da Cunha, as chairman, Rodrigo Almeida Dias, reconfirmed as managing partner (corporate and M&A, and real estate and planning), Marta Afonso Pereira (employment and pensions), Dirce Rente (criminal, regulatory offences and compliance), Diogo Bernardo Monteiro (tax), and João Robles (corporate and M&A).

According to the law firm, the new composition of the board reflects a planned and organic transition, marked by the departure of founding partner Miguel Castelo Branco from the management bodies. “This process highlights Eversheds Sutherland’s institutional maturity and its capacity for internal renewal, ensuring the preservation of the organisation’s core values”, states the law firm. The strategy for the new term focuses on the digitalisation of processes and on anticipating the needs of a market undergoing profound transformation.

“This new board embodies a forward-looking vision grounded in innovation, technical excellence and sustainability. Our priorities for this three-year term include investment in technology and the strengthening of our global integration. The goal is to ensure that we continue to deliver specialised legal solutions tailored to our clients’ needs”, states Rodrigo Almeida Dias, managing partner.
