Eversheds Sutherland advises on securing a €46m investment in INBRAIN Neuroelectronics

Eversheds Sutherland Spain has advised the EIC Fund in a financing round, securing a €46 million investment in INBRAIN Neuroelectronics. Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, INBRAIN Neuroelectronics is a pioneering company specializing in the development of innovative graphene-based neural implants designed to treat neurological disorders and enhance patient quality of life.

This successful financing round saw the participation of prominent investors, including the EIC Fund, imec.xpand, AVANÇSA, Asabys Partners, Aliath Bioventures, Vsquared Ventures and Fond-ICO along with existing shareholders who joined the investment round.

This advise has been in line with the long-term collaboration agreement between Eversheds Sutherland and the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund), with the European Investment Bank (EIB) acting as investment advisor to the fund. The Spanish company was selected amongst 21 European jurisdictions as part of the EIC Accelerator Program. The EIC Accelerator Program aims to identify and support high-impact innovative companies within the European Union.    

Leading the Eversheds Sutherland Spain were Sixto de la Calle Peral, head of private equity, Diego Muro Matoses, legal director and Mercedes Olmedo González, associate of the M&A practice.
