Eversheds advises Systra on the acquisition of Ardanuy Ingeniería

Eversheds Sutherland has advised Systra on the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Ardanuy Ingeniería.

The transaction strengthens Systra’s position in Spain, Portugal and Latin America, consolidating its presence in railway, metro and urban transport infrastructure projects in the region. With this acquisition, more than 350 Ardanuy professionals join the Systra teams in Spain, Portugal, Latin America, India and the Baltic countries, strengthening the group’s technical capabilities in transport systems and infrastructure.

The integration of Ardanuy adds to Systra’s growth momentum in the Iberian market, following the purchase of the Spanish company Subterra in March 2023, which is specialised in tunnels and underground structures. The group is currently involved in major projects such as the metro systems in Santiago, Bogotá, Panama, Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona, as well as road concessions in Peru, Colombia and Chile and high-speed rail projects in Portugal and Spain.

Our team was led by legal director María Isabel González Ojeda, together with of counsel David Williams (both pictured), associate Ana González Orcajo, and junior lawyer Clara Calzado Miranda.
