Energy Day 2024
Iberian Lawyer celebrates this June 27th its Energy Day event at Espacio Larra in the city of Madrid. The event will be attended by experts from the energy sector, in collaboration with Five-E and Watson Farley & Williams and with the support of ACC Europe and the Madrid Bar Association. Discussions will examine the future of renewable energy and the crucial role of financial institutions and legal advisors in driving this transition.
The day starts at 9:00 am with a welcome coffee, setting a warm and welcoming tone for the day. Aldo Scaringella, CEO of LC Publishing Group, and Eugenio Ribón, Dean of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), will open the event with thoughtful welcome messages underscoring the importance of collaboration and innovation in the energy sector.
First Roundtable
The first panel, “Iberia under storage – is it really time for renewables?”, will be moderated by Mercedes Galán of Iberian Lawyer and will address the fundamental question of whether Iberia is ready to fully embrace renewables. The panel will feature a stellar line-up of experts: Antonio Adami, Senior Director and General Counsel EMEA, Recurrent Energy (a subsidiary of Canadian Solar); Clara Cerdán Molina, General Counsel, Solarig; Rocío Chacón Carmona, General Counsel, Enagas Renovable; Luis González, Partner, Watson Farley & Williams; and Federico Silva Ortiz, General Counsel and CCO, Arba Energy.
Second Rountable
After the mid-morning coffee break, the second table arrived. Focused on the financial world, and entitled, “Banks, advisors and investors in the evolving energy sector”, it will be moderated by Julia Gil of FinancecommunityES and Iberian Lawyer. The panel will feature experts Antonio Baena, Operating Partner SC Infra, Suma Capital; Rubén Martínez Cartanyà, Head of Energy Project Finance, Banco Sabadell; Fernando Lafuente Seseña, Managing Partner, Alantra Equities; Ángeles Zatarain, Head of Energy, Bankinter and Artur Penedo, Chief Technical Officer, Five-E. This session will highlight the crucial role played by banks, advisors and investors in supporting renewable energy projects.
At 1pm, the event will conclude with a closing keynote speech summarizing the key points and reinforcing the themes of collaboration and innovation. A light lunch will follow, providing attendees with another valuable opportunity to network and reflect on the day’s discussions in a more informal setting.
