EJASO Strengthens Compliance Department with César Zárate

EJASO continues its growth and expansion strategy as a leading multidisciplinary law firm in the middle market by strengthening its Compliance department, a key area in its strategic development. The department will be led by partner César Zárate (pictured left), who returns to the firm after a stint at ECIJA. Joining him will be Marta Guzmán (principal associate), Óscar Marí (senior lawyer), and Sofía Collado (associate), all of whom have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and assessing compliance management systems for both national and international companies.

Zárate, an expert in corporate responsibility, financial crime prevention (including money laundering, fraud, corruption, and international sanctions), third-party due diligence, internal investigations, and managing whistleblowing channels, describes his return to EJASO as a homecoming and an opportunity to “drive an exciting and challenging project.” He notes that “in a context of constant regulatory change, my team and I are excited to bring our expertise to strengthen a critical practice like Compliance. This will allow us to expand our service offerings and fully meet the day-to-day needs of our clients with the highest guarantees.”

Manuel González-Haba (pictured right), partner and member of EJASO’s Management Committee, shares a similar sentiment. He sees Zárate’s return and the addition of his team as a decisive step toward solidifying EJASO’s position as a leader in the middle market, while reinforcing the firm’s commitment to top-tier professionals with the shared goal of providing clients with the best possible solutions.

This move strengthens a key pillar of the firm’s strategic development. “Our aim is to provide excellent legal counsel that helps our clients confidently and successfully navigate the challenges they face now and in the future,” concludes González-Haba.
