Ejaso advises sellers in Colegio Peleteiro deal

Ejaso has advised the selling party — the Peleteiro Ramos family — in the sale of Colegio M. Peleteiro, a private school based in Santiago de Compostela, to Globeducate, an international education group owned by US-based Providence Equity Partners and French investment firm Wendel.

The transaction marks the transfer of one of Spain’s most recognised private educational institutions to a group that manages a network of more than 65 schools across eleven countries, serving over 40,000 students and employing more than 6,000 people. Globeducate is valued at over €2 billion.

On the Globeducate side, M&A advisory was provided by Escala Capital and Socios Financieros, with legal and financial due diligence support from Uría Menéndez, Deloitte, Afaya Partners, Edacto, and CBRE. The Peleteiro family was advised financially by Banco Sabadell and legally by EJASO.

The team

The EJASO team, operating out of the firm’s Galicia office, provided comprehensive legal counsel to the selling family throughout the entire sale and closing process. The Corporate M&A team was led by Enrique A. González Iglesias, partner in Corporate M&A and Capital Markets, supported by Blanca Monteoliva Pereira, associate.
