Eduardo Petrossi, new ANDEMA’S CEO
Mahou San Miguel, Spain’s brewery group, has assumed the presidency of ANDEMA (Spanish Association for the Defense of Trademarks) for the next four years. The company’s CEO and Board Member, Eduardo Petrossi, will succeed Rosa Tous, who has led the association for the past eight years.
Petrossi, who also serves as Vice President of the Mahou San Miguel Foundation, takes on this role with a clear commitment to advancing the value and protection of industrial property rights in Spain, a central mission of ANDEMA.
Founded in 1890, Mahou San Miguel is a family-owned, 100% Spanish and independent beverage and services company. With a presence in over 70 international markets and a team of more than 4,400 professionals, the company boasts 12 breweries—nine in Spain and three in the U.S.—as well as four natural springs and an extensive distribution network.
Outgoing ANDEMA President Rosa Tous, Corporate Vice President of TOUS, emphasized the symbolic significance of the transition: “Mahou San Miguel is a clear example of what brand protection and industrial property mean in Spain. It is a company known for its commitment to innovation, category creation, and international expansion—all while remaining deeply rooted in Spanish family business tradition.”
Mahou San Miguel has been a member of ANDEMA since 2017. Its elevation to the presidency signals a reinforced institutional commitment to brand protection at all levels.
Eduardo Petrossi expressed both pride and responsibility as he steps into the new position: “It is an honor to assume the presidency of ANDEMA and to follow in the footsteps of Rosa Tous, who has done an outstanding job consolidating the association as a key voice in industrial property protection in Spain. At Mahou San Miguel, we believe deeply in the strategic value of brands as drivers of competitiveness, innovation, and consumer trust. I take on this challenge with enthusiasm and dedication, aiming to continue fostering a strong culture of brand protection that delivers economic and social value for the country.”
During Rosa Tous’s tenure, ANDEMA has significantly expanded its membership—now exceeding 100 members—and strengthened public awareness and institutional engagement through initiatives such as the European Forum, Journalism Awards, and collaborative agreements with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM), consumer associations, law enforcement, and local governments.
