Edison Next appoints Umberto Dotta as Spain CEO
Edison Next Spain, a subsidiary of the energy group Edison, has appointed Umberto Dotta as its new Chief Executive Officer in Spain. The move comes as the company seeks to accelerate a plan of investments aimed at supporting industry, the services sector and public administration in their energy transition and decarbonization efforts.
The appointment follows a period in which the company has doubled its presence in the Spanish market. According to the company, “this expansion has laid the groundwork for a new stage of growth”.
Umberto Dotta said “the goal is to help companies become more efficient and competitive in the market”, adding that “Edison Next also aims to support public administrations in generating increasing value across the territories in which it operates”.
Dotta brings international experience in the energy sector, having worked at companies including ABB, Edison and the EDF Group. Throughout his career, he has led strategic projects, overseeing engineering and business development departments before moving into general management roles. He holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of Buenos Aires and the University of Bologna.
