Ecija expands in Chile with Porte & Canales

Ecija has grown its Latin American network by incorporating with Chilean tax boutique Porte & Canales. The move adds Chile to Ecija’s existing presence across Spain, Portugal, and several Latin American jurisdictions.

With the incorporation, Ecija adds two new partners – Octavio Canales and Rodolfo Porte -, and a team of 12 highly specialised professionals in tax advisory and planning to its structure. “This transaction represents a strategic milestone in the firm’s growth in Chile and strengthens its ability to respond to the most complex tax challenges for both domestic and international clients”, states the law firm.

Octavio Canales and Rodolfo Porte bring extensive experience in domestic and international taxation, as well as well-established relationships with key players in the Chilean market.

“We continue building the firm the market needs: solid, specialised, and with real capacity to support our clients in the most demanding challenges. The integration of Porte & Canales and the incorporation of Octavio and Rodolfo as partners represent a decisive step to consolidate our tax practice and continue growing with the excellence that defines us”, said Alfredo Moreno, managing partner of Ecija Chile.

According to Ecija, the incorporation of Porte & Canales reflects a broader trend among Iberian law firms seeking to deepen their footprint in Latin American markets, where demand for cross-border legal services — particularly in technology, data protection, and corporate matters — continues to grow. Ecija has previously pursued a similar model of local partnerships and incorporations across the region.
