Ecija: A clear cut division

After 14 years of growth as a legal services and solutions provider in Spain, Ecija, founded and co-led by Hugo and Álvaro Écija, has taken a u-turn with the branching off of the Ecix Group.

The Group will mainly focus on compliance, privacy, IT law and risk management. It is led by Álvaro Écija and Carlos A. Sáiz, with a multidisciplinary team also joining from Ecija, including Partners Javier Carbayo, Esmeralda Saracibar and Adolfo Hernández.
Their former firm, led by Hugo Écija, focuses on media and entertainment, corporate and new technologies law. Key Partners have also remained, such as Emilio Prieto in Corporate, Juan Salmerón leading entertainment and Alejandro Touriño in technology and social networks, as well as the whole Barcelona office led by Partners Gabriel Nadal and Xavier Muñoz.
For the moment, the move allows each firm to concentrate on their particular areas of expertise and focus on their own market positioning, according to both.
