DLA Piper Spain obtains BREEAM Certification
DLA Piper‘s office refurbishment at Castellana 39 in Madrid has achieved BREEAM certification with a “very good” rating for both the building and its management, underscoring the firm’s strong commitment to sustainability. BREEAM® (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) is the world’s most advanced and leading assessment and certification method for building sustainability. With over 20 years of experience, it has certified more than 600,000 buildings in 93 countries.
In December 2022, coinciding with its 20th anniversary in Spain, DLA Piper relocated its offices to the building at Paseo de la Castellana 39 with the dual aim of providing a better working environment for its professionals and clients, and creating more open spaces prioritizing energy efficiency, air quality, and thermal, acoustic, and environmental comfort.
By receiving this certification, DLA Piper Spain strengthens its reputation and effort to create spaces that benefit both people and the environment, aligning with the firm’s global efforts towards a greener and more sustainable legal practice.
Jorge García Cuestas, Property & Workplace Manager at DLA Piper Spain, commented: “Obtaining BREEAM certification not only represents a significant milestone for our firm but also reaffirms our commitment to creating sustainable and responsible work environments. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and effort of our team and aligns with the firm’s global roadmap towards a greener and more sustainable practice. We continue to work on integrating sustainability criteria into all our projects, ensuring that our infrastructure and operations reflect the values of environmental responsibility and transparency that we promote.”
