DLA Piper promotes seven in Spain

DLA Piper has promoted seven lawyers across its Spain offices, spanning its Corporate, Finance, and Real Estate practices. The promotions take effect from 1 July 2026.

The profiles

Marta Clemente has been promoted to Counsel within the Corporate practice. She joined DLA Piper in 2024 and brings more than 15 years of experience in corporate and financial transactions across the energy, infrastructure, and transport sectors. Her practice focuses on the sale, development, construction, and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, advising investors, lenders, and developers at all project stages. She also has extensive experience negotiating power purchase agreements (PPAs) from both buyer and seller perspectives, as well as a thorough knowledge of export credit agency structures.

Three lawyers have been elevated to Legal Director. Pablo González (Finance), who joined the firm in 2018, advises financial institutions, private investors, funds, and sponsors on all types of financing transactions — including corporate, real estate, venture capital, refinancings, and LBOs — with a particular focus on cross-border deals. His practice also covers the structuring of guarantees by Spanish companies in the context of Latin American projects, as well as advisory work for institutional investors, including international insurers and public entities, on infrastructure projects across multiple jurisdictions.

Fátima Rico-Villademoros (Real Estate), who joined in 2015, has over ten years of experience in high-profile real estate transactions for domestic and international clients. She specialises in asset and share deal transactions across retail, logistics, offices, and residential — including the branded residences model — and has developed a strong focus on the data centre sector, advising funds throughout the full investment cycle: land acquisition with capacity permits, development, operation through colocation agreements, and joint venture structuring.

Alberto Rubio (Finance), who joined in 2014, advises on corporate, acquisition (LBO), real estate, and project finance transactions at both domestic and international level, acting for financial institutions, institutional investors, and sponsors alike. He has worked on complex debt refinancing and restructuring processes, as well as bond-based financing transactions (private placements). He is also a member of the firm’s Sports Finance practice, having participated in several major sports financing and stadium infrastructure transactions in Spain.

At Senior Associate level, Julia Fernández has been promoted within the Real Estate team, while Carlos Fuerte and Diego Sánchez have been promoted within Corporate.
