DLA Piper Advises CaixaBank on Financing for BASID

DLA Piper has successfully advised CaixaBank on the financing for the Barcelona Science Innovation District (BaSID), Catalunya’s premier private hub for life sciences and innovation. The financing consists of a €40 million green loan aimed at advancing the development of new laboratories, facilities and infrastructure, further solidifying BaSID’s position as a leading center for scientific excellence in the region.

The BaSID, the scientific pole located in Sant Joan Despí and Esplugues de Llobregat, aims to foster collaboration between researchers, academics, and industry professionals to drive innovation in the life sciences sector. The €40 million green loan will support the construction of state-of-the-art laboratories and infrastructure, further solidifying BASID’s position as a leading center for scientific excellence in the region.

The advisory team was led by Partner and Head of Financing, Projects, and Restructuring César Herrero Mazarío (pictured left), and Partner and Head of Real Estate Orson Alcocer (pictured right).
