DLA Piper advises ACSEL on the acquisition of a logistics centre

DLA Piper has advised Aquila Capital on the acquisition and financing of a logistics centre in Tordera, a municipality near Barcelona. The law firm has advised on all phases of the transaction, from the due diligence process of the asset to the negotiation and formalisation of the transaction documents and including the financing of the acquisition of the asset.

Aquila Capital announces that its Aquila Capital Southern European Logistics (ACSEL) successfully completed the acquisition of its first logistics asset in Spain. The transaction took place at the end of December 2023 and marks one of the most important acquisitions of a single logistics asset in Spain by volume of the year. With this acquisition, the fund was able to secure income-generating assets in all three target markets in which it operates: Italy, Portugal and, most recently, Spain.

Led by partner José María Oliva (Real Estate, pictured), the DLA Piper team for the acquisition part was formed by Ángel Maestro and Fátima Rico-Villademoros, legal director and senior associate, respectively. On the financing side, the team consisted of César Herrero (partner), Pablo González (senior associate) and Antonio Olarte (associate).
