Diego Lozano closes his time at Pinsent Masons
Diego Lozano has formally stepped down from Pinsent Masons, ending an eight-year tenure that included serving as Managing Partner of the firm’s Spanish office from 2017 to 2022. Lozano joined the firm from Ramón y Cajal to spearhead the launch of the Madrid office, marking a key milestone in the firm’s expansion into the Spanish legal market.
The departure was signed by mutual agreement and on good terms, in accordance with the firm’s standard retirement timelines for partners, as confirmed by both parties.
A State Attorney on leave of absence, Lozano previously held the role of Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and the Environment from 1991 to 1995. Before joining Pinsent Masons, he worked at Ferreras Abogados and Ramón y Cajal. His practice has focused primarily on corporate and contract law, advising clients in sectors such as technology, infrastructure, and real estate, particularly on M&A transactions.
Lozano was succeeded at the helm of the Madrid office in 2022 by Inmaculada Castelló and Fernando Gutiérrez, who in turn handed over leadership in March 2024 to Francisco Aldavero. Commenting on Lozano’s departure, Aldavero stated: “As the first managing partner of Pinsent Masons in Madrid, Diego has been a cornerstone in the firm’s foundation and its subsequent consolidation in Spain.”
