Dentons signs Miguel Barroso as new technologies and data protection partner
Dentons has hired Miguel Barroso López, from Herbert Smith Freehills, as a new partner in the new technologies and data protection department.

With a professional career of more than 15 years, Barroso specializes in advising large companies, investment banks, venture capital firms and public administrations both nationally and internationally. In addition, his practice encompasses a comprehensive approach to matters such as Digital Law (e-commerce, cybersecurity, technology contracts, artificial intelligence, etc.), Emerging Technologies, Data Protection, Intellectual and Industrial Property, and Regulatory Law in the framework of regulated sectors, as well as in litigation associated with these areas.
Prior to joining Dentons, Mr. Barroso was an of counsel at Herbert Smith Freehills, in the area of regulated sectors, emerging technologies and data protection, where he was a member of the firm’s international Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies groups. Previously, he also developed his career at Deloitte Legal as a senior associate, participating in numerous cross-cutting advisory projects.
In addition to his professional activity, Miguel Barroso stands out for his teaching work in various universities and academic centers. He has been a professor in several specialized programs and master’s degrees at the Rey Juan Carlos University, the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Villanueva University Center.
