Dentons has advised Engie on the purchase from Greenalia of a 182 MW renewable projects portfolio in Galicia and Andalusia

The energy department of firm´s Spanish office, with a team comprising partner Fermín Garbayo, counsel Luis Gil and associates Almudena Gurpegui and Belén Alemany, has advised on the acquisition.

Engie, a global leader in low-carbon energy and services, has acquired these projects in the development phase and expects them to be operational during 2025. The transaction is part of the company’s ambitious global goal to increase its renewable capacity by 4 gigawatts on average per year in the period 2022-2025, with Spain being a key player in achieving this goal.

Greenalia is an independent power producer using exclusively renewable technologies. The company’s main activity is the generation and sale of electricity, being present in six technologies: onshore wind, offshore wind, solar photovoltaic, biomass, storage and hydrogen.
