Deloitte advises Liceo Sorolla school on its sale to the Cognita group
Deloitte Legal has advised the shareholders of Liceo Sorolla school in Madrid on its sale to the Cognita education group, which now has 10 schools in Spain.
With more than 60 years of history, Liceo Sorolla was founded in 1963 by three families who continue to lead the educational project. The school offers a forward-looking educational programme based on active learning, trilingual education (Spanish, English and French) and a strong international focus. The school currently has more than 1,000 students aged between 2 and 18, representing 25 different nationalities.
Cognita has a presence in Europe, the United States, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia, and brings together more than 100 schools and tens of thousands of students worldwide. In Spain, the group comprises Hastings School, The English Montessori School (TEMS), Colegio Europeo de Madrid (CEM), Mirasur School (Madrid), The British School of Barcelona, Colegio Internacional Meres (Asturias), El Limonar International School (ELIS) Murcia and Villamartín, British School of Valencia and, now, Liceo Sorolla.
