David Muñoz Zapata joins Administrativando Abogados

Administrativando Abogados, a national boutique specializing in administrative and contentious-administrative law, continues to strengthen its team with the recent addition of David Muñoz Zapata as a Senior Associate. Muñoz, a seasoned legal professional with a diverse background, brings a wealth of experience to the firm.

Muñoz holds a Doctorate in Law from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, where his thesis, titled “Study and Proposal for Revision of Prerogative in Administrative Contracts,” earned him the highest distinction of Summa Cum Laude. Additionally, he completed a Master’s degree in Fundamental Rights and Public Freedoms and a Master’s degree in Public Procurement Law, both from the University of Castilla-La Mancha.

Prior to joining Administrativando Abogados, Muñoz led his own legal firm, specializing primarily in administrative and contentious-administrative law. His extensive professional background also includes serving as a Professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha since 2014. He has held notable positions such as Secretary of the Sports Discipline Committee of Castilla-La Mancha and Secretary of the Regional Sports Council of the Autonomous Community. Muñoz’s contributions extend to legislative matters as well, having drafted the Preliminary Draft of Law 5/2015, on Physical Activity and Sports in Castilla-La Mancha.

From 2019 to 2023, Muñoz ventured into politics, serving as a Deputy in the General Courts of Castilla La Mancha during its X legislature. His involvement in various legislative processes during this period demonstrates his deep understanding of governmental affairs.

Muñoz’s professional journey also includes roles as an interim civil servant in the Junta de Castilla La Mancha, primarily within the Legal Corps. However, he has made a deliberate decision to transition to the private sector, joining Administrativando Abogados.
