Cuatrecasas instructed by Grupo Villar Mir on Torre Espacio sale

Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira was instructed by Grupo Villar Mir on the sale of the Torre Espacio building in Madrid to the Philippine group Emperador.

 

Torre Espacio is one of the emblematic “cuatro torres (four towers) in Madrid – the skyscraper, which is 235 metres high and has 57 floors, was designed by New York architects Pei, Cobb, Freed & Partners.  

The building is currently home to a number of companies including Red Bull and British American Tobacco. However, its main occupants are Grupo Villar Mir subsidiaries including OHL and Ferroatlántica, as well as the Australian, Canadian, Dutch and UK embassies. These occupants will remain in their offices under a rental agreement. 

The Cuatrecasas team advising Villar Mir on this transaction included partners Fernando Torrente, Javier Carvajal, and Ricardo Echevarría. The team also included counsel Silvia Alcoverro and partner José María Echevarría.

Emperador was advised by Allen & Overy on the deal.
