Cuatrecasas hires Enrique Carrera as new partner in Antitrust & Competition Practice
Cuatrecasas has strengthened its Competition practice group with the incorporation of Enrique Carrera, former counsel at Freshfields, as the firm’s new partner and co-coordinator of the area.

With more than two decades of proven experience, he is a specialist in all aspects of European Union, Spanish and international competition law, as well as in foreign subsidies (FSR) and in advising on foreign investment authorization processes (FDI).
A graduate in Law from the Universidad San Pablo-CEU in Madrid, Enrique Carrera also holds an LL.M in European and Competition Law from the College of Europe in Bruges, an LL.M in German and EU Law from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and a Diplôme d’Études Supérieures (DESUP) in EU Legal and Economic Studies from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris.

Since 2001, when he started his long professional career, he has worked for some of the most important global law firms, such as Linklaters and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
He has advised high-profile national and international clients on highly complex merger transactions from a competition law perspective (including domestic, EU and non-EU mergers), cartels, distribution agreements, compliance issues, abuse of dominance at EU and national level, competition litigation, EU state aid matters and foreign subsidies.
