The Cuatrecasas Foundation has announced the first edition of the Manuel Olivencia Award for University Excellence, which aims to recognize the academic qualifications and support the training of law students who have an excellent academic record and propose a comprehensive study project. The award pays tribute to the professional and human trajectory of the prestigious jurist and professor Manuel Olivencia, in which his important contribution to the legal, academic and business fields stands out.

Gross endowment of 60,000 euros

The award, endowed with a gross amount of 60,000 euros, is aimed at students who are in their final year of a law degree, any other combined degree or a master’s degree in law at a Spanish university. The beneficiary will have the opportunity to continue their academic training, investing the economic endowment of the award in the completion of a master’s degree, doctorate or research project in the field of business. The award can be enjoyed during the academic year 2025-2026 in Spanish or foreign universities.

The deadline for submitting the application and all the documentation will be open until Tuesday, December 31, at 2:00 pm. The jury, made up of a select group of independent persons of recognized prestige in Spain in the legal, business and academic fields, will be responsible for selecting the candidacy that shows the greatest merits and capabilities.

The jury’s decision will be made public in March 2025. The main Spanish university, academic, business and social institutions will be represented at the public award ceremony, which will be held in Seville on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
