Cuatrecasas advises Ringier Sports Media Group on acquiring A Bola

Cuatrecasas has advised the Swiss headquarterd Ringier Sports Media Group, on its acquisition of the company owning A Bola (sports newspaper, digital and TV) and AutoFoco magazine.

The legal team was led by the M&A partner Mariana Norton and associates Sofia S. Alves and Filipa Teixeira Diniz together with the TMT partner Joana Mota Agostinho and supported by several specialists from the IP/TMT, employment, real estate, tax and finance practice areas.

RSMG was founded in the summer of 2022 as a subsidiary of Ringier AG, a media and technology group operating in 19 countries with approximately 140 companies. A Bola, a daily sports newspaper, was founded in 1945, while Auto Foco, a media outlet specialising in the automotive sector, was founded in 2000.
