Cuatrecasas advises Ancala on Supera gym acquisition

Cuatrecasas has advised infrastructure fund Ancala Partners on the acquisition of Iberian gym chain Supera from Portobello. The deal strengthens Ancala’s presence in Spain, where it has now completed three investments following its stakes in Ence and Avinci, and positions the fund in a sector currently undergoing a period of corporate consolidation, states Cuatrecasas.

The transaction is part of an organic growth strategy underpinned by Supera’s planned openings and its expansion prospects in Italy, where the group already operates centres under a concession model.

Advisory team

The Cuatrecasas team advising on the transaction was made up of partner Federico Roig (pictured), senior associates Sora Park, Carlota Tojo and associate Ricardo Ramírez-Montesinos, from the Corporate – M&A group, together with Enrique Carrera and Pablo López, from the Competition practice.
