CTSU reinforces team with four new hires

CTSU, Deloitte Legal Practice in Portugal, reinforced its team with four new hires: Maria Cabral de Azevedo joins the Real Estate, Tourism and Construction area; Joana Diniz de Figueiredo is part of the TMT and Privacy team; Henrique Sousa Freire joins the Corporate and Commercial team; and Maria Carolina Araújo reinforces the Mergers & Acquisitions team.

Maria Cabral de Azevedo is the new managing senior associate at CTSU for the Real Estate, Tourism and Construction areas. Of her professional activity, her experience in Real Estate Law stands out, providing legal advice to national and international investors and developers, investment funds, insurance companies and banks in due diligence processes, in the preparation and negotiation of contracts for the acquisition or sale of real estate assets, negotiation and drafting of works contracts, leases and other forms of assignment of use or exploitation, solar parks, tourist and commercial exploitation contracts.

Joana Diniz de Figueiredo joins CTSU as a senior associate and reinforces the TMT and Privacy area. She has extensive experience in Privacy and Data Protection projects, as well as in Digital Law, Technology, Media and Telecommunications, including due diligence processes for assets or legal risks. She was previously the Data Protection Officer (DPO) at CTSU and, between 2020 and 2022, she also collaborated with a consulting firm dedicated to data protection and cybersecurity. She obtained, in 2020, the certification of Data Protection Practitioner by the Global Data Protection Alliance.

Henrique Sousa Freire is the new associate lawyer of Corporate and Commercial Law at CTSU. He has developed his professional activity in these areas, including M&A and Corporate Governance, and provides legal advice to commercial companies, with emphasis on corporate restructuring operations, national and international M&A transactions, as well as spin-offs, dissolutions, liquidations and transformation. of societies.


Maria Carolina Araújo also reinforces the Mergers and Acquisitions team at CTSU, as associate lawyer. Her professional activity focuses on providing legal advice to companies and corporate groups, which includes Corporate secretarial services, and M&A transactions, including carrying out due diligence, as well as incorporation, transformation, dissolution and liquidation of companies. She previously worked as an in-house lawyer in an industrial sector company and collaborated occasionally with CTSU.
