Cristina Vergueiro joins Pérez-Llorca in Lisbon

Pérez-Llorca has appointed Cristina Vergueiro as senior international counsel in the corporate team of its Lisbon office. Vergueiro joins from Pátria Investmentos, a private equity and infrastructure manager in Latin America, where she was a legal & compliance managing director.

With almost 20 years’ experience in corporate, private equity and infrastructure in Latin America, Cristina Vergueiro “enhances Pérez-Llorca’s capabilities in complex M&A transactions and large-scale projects”, states the law firm. Her arrival aims to boost the Lisbon office’s international reach with Latin America, reinforcing the firm’s ability to advise private clients and companies with interests in this market.

Throughout her career, she has worked across all phases of the investment cycle: fund structuring, capital raising, investment and divestment transactions, as well as the oversight and development of portfolio companies. Her experience includes designing governance models, risk management and compliance frameworks in sectors such as logistics, energy, transport and pharmaceuticals across various Latin American markets, in addition to crisis management and arbitration work. She also served on the boards of several portfolio companies. Cristina Vergueiro holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo Law School and is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association.

According to Gonçalo Capela Godinho, country chair of Pérez-Llorca in Portugal: “Cristina brings an in-depth understanding of the private equity industry and the dynamics of infrastructure investment. Her experience will allow us to offer clients robust legal solutions for complex M&A transactions and the development of projects in critical sectors such as energy, transport and logistics.”
