CMS hires Álvaro Seijo as new IP partner

CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has hired Álvaro Seijo Bar as a new partner in the Intellectual, Industrial and Intangible Property practice. He comes from Uría Menéndez, which he joined in 2012 and where he has served as counsel since 2024.

He regularly advises domestic and international clients on matters relating to intellectual and industrial property, digital law, unfair competition and advertising, as well as on issues linked to distribution and agency. His experience spans sectors such as technology, media, creative industries, platforms, telecommunications, financial services, pharmaceuticals and industry, with a strong focus on businesses intensive in intangible assets.

His practice combines contentious and non-contentious work, with involvement in significant litigation before civil and administrative courts, as well as before Spanish and European Union authorities. He also regularly takes part in the negotiation and execution of complex agreements relating to intangible assets.

Alongside his professional practice, he carries out a notable academic role as a lecturer on postgraduate programmes at some of Spain’s leading universities, including Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Universidad de Navarra. He has also published extensively in specialist journals and collective works, mainly on topics such as copyright, trademarks, artificial intelligence, software and advertising law. The new partner at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo holds degrees in Law and in Business Administration and Management from the University of Alicante.
