CMS advises on the entry of Rafael Nadal as a shareholder of Playtomic
CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has advised Playtomic, a leading company in the tennis and paddle tennis booking business, on the entry of Rafael Nadal, one of the most successful figures in Spanish sport, as a shareholder of the app. The tennis player has taken a stake that represents a financial backing and a strengthening of the company’s vision to promote the practice of tennis and paddle at a global level.
It is an alliance that aims to provide greater access and playing experience for all amateurs and professionals. Recently, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo also advised Playtomic in the acquisition of Sportclubby, dedicated to the business of digital management of sports bookings in Italy.
laytomic is an app for the reservation and management of paddle and tennis clubs that operates in 50 countries and seeks to become a reference not only in racquet sports but also in the sports field. With it, users can book a court and connect with other players regardless of level.
The transaction has been led by public law and regulated sectors partner Alfonso Codes, corporate / M&A partner Carlos Peña, José Luis Rodríguez, associate in the same area, Tax partner Diego de Miguel and Paloma Herreros, associate in the same area. From Playtomic’s corporate legal department, Diego Montoya led the transaction.
