Clyde & Co recruits Portuguese lawyer Nuno Frota

Clyde & Co has recruited Nuno Frota as a consultant in its trade and commodities team.

Frota – who is qualified in Portugal and Angola, as well as England and Wales – joins from Ince & Co, where he was a partner specialising in commodities transactions in the energy, metals and mining sectors.

Earlier in his career, Frota (pictured) worked for Portuguese law firm PLMJ.

Frota’s expertise includes trade finance, foreign direct investment, cross border M&A and international commodities. He was previously a senior legal counsel for Africa at trading house Trafigura, where he was responsible for downstream and investment projects, trade and trade finance in countries including Mozambique and Angola, where he was based. Frota is a Portuguese-born Angolan national.

He will be based in Clyde & Co’s London office.
