Clifford Chance promotes 8 lawyers to counsel in Spain

Clifford Chance announced the promotion as of 1 May to counsel of eight lawyers in Spain: Felipe Font, Fernando Giménez-Alvear, Javier Hermosilla, Belén Irissarry, Pablo Murcia, María Pradillo, Jesús Quesada y María Sabau.

In Europe, a total of 42 lawyers have been promoted to this role (43% women and 57% men).

Felipe Font specializes in restructuring and real estate finance. He is usually engaged in corporate finance, acquisition finance and bank lending generally.

Fernando Giménez-Alvear specialises in litigation and arbitration. He has acted in all types of judicial, mediation and arbitration proceedings before both national and international courts. He is member of the insurance group of the firm and has experience in conflicts in the insurance sector and disputes related to distribution and agency agreements, M&A and real estate transactions, corporate law, antitrust and unfair competition.

Javier Hermosilla specialises in domestic and cross-border M&A, joint ventures, private equity, restructurings and corporate matters. He acts for a broad range of clients including corporates, funds and financial services groups, particularly in the energy & infrastructures, financial, and consumer, goods & retail sectors.

Belen Irissarry is a lawyer in EU and Competition Law Department. With more than fifteen years of experience, she has been involved in numerous mergers and restrictive practices, in particular in the audiovisual, telecommunications, IT and retail distribution sectors.

Pablo Murcia specialises on domestic and international M&A transactions, both for corporates and financial investors, with a particular focus on the energy, infrastructure and sports sectors.

María Pradillo is a lawyer in the firm’s real estate department. She specialises in complex real estate transactions, such as real estate joint ventures, acquisitions of companies with real estate portfolios, real estate portfolio companies, sale and purchase transactions of real estate portfolios, sale and lease back transactions and real estate development projects.

Jesús Quesada specializes in structured finance, securitisation and financing transactions (including syndicated loans, project finance, NPLs and real estate finance and restructurings).

With more than 14 years of experience, he has worked on a significant number of transactions in the banking and capital markets area. He acts for a broad range of market participants, including banks, investment funds, institutional investors, sponsors and corporates.

Maria Sabau specialises in acquisition finance and refinancings acting both for lenders and borrowers/sponsors. She has a experience in corporate finance deals and is usually engaged in project finance deals, acting both for lenders and borrowers in infrastructure and energy project deals and has participated in financing structures in asset finance deals within the film industry.
