Busquets adds two partners for M&A and LatAm
Busquets Law & Finance has appointed Alejandro Prim and Sonia Clapers as partners at its Barcelona office, marking a new phase of growth focused on international expansion and corporate law.
Alejandro Prim joins to lead the international practice, with a particular focus on Latin America, while Sonia Clapers takes on the role of reinforcing the corporate department, with emphasis on M&A transactions, investment rounds, and shareholders’ agreement structuring.
Managing partner Juan Busquets framed the hires as a step forward in the firm’s ambition to consolidate its position in complex operations and in advising companies across all stages of their lifecycle, from incorporation through growth, internationalisation, and corporate restructuring.
The profiles
Alejandro Prim brings a career combining litigation with advisory work for companies on recurring matters and expansion projects. In recent years, his activity has centred on supporting Spanish companies entering Latin American markets and Latin American companies establishing themselves in Europe, through his firm Summa Consultores, an international advisory firm.
Sonia Clapers joins from firms including Roca Junyent, KPMG Abogados, and DWF-RCD. Her track record includes advising on company and asset acquisitions and disposals, as well as negotiating commercial contracts in high-demand contexts. “My work has always been oriented towards precisely identifying clients’ real needs and accompanying them beyond purely legal analysis,” she said, adding that the goal is to provide solutions tailored to clients’ specific context and genuinely useful for business decision-making. Clapers described the move as aligned with her approach to legal practice, citing the firm’s client-focused ethos and long-term commitment as key factors.
