Bruc hires Javier Alagón from Ontier

The energy group Bruc has reinforced its legal team with the appointment of Javier Alagón, who until now served as Director of Regulatory Affairs in the energy practice at Ontier in Madrid.

Bruc, one of Spain’s leading renewable energy developers, was founded in late 2015 by businessman Juan Béjar, former CEO of Ferrovial Airports and former chairman of Globalvia. The company, backed by investors such as the Canadian pension fund OPTrust, manages a renewable energy portfolio of 9,100 megawatts, including photovoltaic, wind and battery storage projects in operation, under construction and in development.

Alagón brings extensive expertise in regulatory aspects of energy projects, including project structuring, legal monitoring of regulatory developments, and compliance with the evolving legal framework governing the sector. His experience also includes advising on access and connection to the power grid, obtaining permits and authorizations, and environmental impact assessments.

Throughout his career, Alagón has advised companies active in the energy sector on M&A and project finance transactions, providing legal support from early-stage development through to project commissioning.

Prior to joining Ontier, he held positions at leading law firms including Pinsent Masons, Pérez-Llorca, Andersen, and Osborne Clarke.

He holds a law degree from the University of Zaragoza, an LL.M. in Business Legal Advice from IE Business School, a master’s in Urban Planning, Environment and Smart Cities from ISDE, and a master’s in Energy Law from the Spanish Energy Club (Club Español de la Energía).
