Bosco Montejo, new managing partner of Freshfields in Spain
As Iberian Lawyer can exclusively reveal, Bosco Montejo takes over from Álvaro Iza as the new managing partner of the Madrid Freshfield´s office, effective May 1, 2025. A natural replacement as a consequence of the end of his term as managing partner, Iza will continue to lead the firm’s Competition practice.

Montejo joined Freshfields in 2007, where he has spent the last 18 years of his professional career. In 2019 he was appointed partner, and currently also heads the Tax practice. He specializes in cross-border transactions, structured finance, real estate transactions and group restructurings. He advises companies and private equity investment groups on their investments in Spain. He has been partner in charge of Talent in Spain for the last two years and member of the global Risk Committee.
The new managing partner holds a degree in Law from the University of Deusto and a diploma in Economics and Business Administration. He has a master’s degree in tax advice from the Centro de Estudios Financieros.
