Blas A. González appointed member of ASPAC´s Compliance Committee

The Professional Association of Insolvency Administrators (ASPAC) has appointed Blas A. González, managing partner of Blas A. González Abogados, to its Compliance Committee

Blas A. González (pictured), managing partner of Blas A. González law firm, has been named a member of the independent committee to ensure compliance with the first Code of Good Practice for Insolvency administrators in Spain. The Professional Association of Insolvency administrators (ASPAC) is the most representative group of the sector in Spain, bringing together around 150 Insolvency practitioners who manage some of the main Insolvency proceedings filed in Spain.

Following the drafting last year of the first Code of Good Practice for Insolvency administrators in Spain, the ASPAC, a leading association among the group of Insolvency Administrators in Spain, created an independent committee to ensure its effective implementation, thus providing greater transparency to the sector and avoiding unethical practices in the profession.

The Committee is made up of the Association’s president, Diego Comendador, the vice-presidents, Aticus Ocaña Martín and Unai Olabarrieta de Frutos, Blas A. González, former magistrate of the Council of the Judiciary, Marta Flores Segura, PhD in Law from the UAM and the notary public Javier de Lucas y Cadena.

On the appointment, Blas A. González, former judge of the Provincial Court of Barcelona and the Commercial Court of Granada and ex-Cuatrecasas, stressed his excitement at being part of the committee and its social value: “ASPAC does a great job for the Insolvency administrators’ sector. Providing the profession with a code of good practice and creating a committee to ensure its effective application is fundamental to improving both the performance of the administrators and the social perception of such an important task for the proper functioning of the economy and the protection of the country’s productive fabric,” explained González.
