Bird & Bird Spain adopts Leya
Bird & Bird has launched a multi-office proof of concept with Leya, a revolutionary platform that uses AI to automate tasks and provides access to both public and internal data. Starting with user groups in the firm’s offices in the UK, Germany, Spain and the Nordics, the team will review use cases, the value the tool can bring to the firm and prepare future use cases.

Optimizing processes and adding value
After testing several GenAI paralegals in recent months, the firm will work closely with Leya through a large-scale proof of concept to explore how this innovative tool can optimize the firm’s processes and deliver value to clients.
During the six-month program, the firm will continuously evaluate the use of Leya across the firm’s international network, focusing on specific legal tasks such as local law analysis, court cases, case law, contract drafting and document review. Starting with user groups in the firm’s offices in the UK, Germany, Spain and the Nordic countries, the team will review use cases, the value the tool can bring to the firm and prepare future use cases.
In preparation for the proof of concept, the firm has already launched a number of initiatives to optimize its processes, train all members of the firm and ensure responsible use of the technology, including the launch of a customized training program with educational partner Simplexico.
