Barrilero advises the first transaction of the search fund Albor Capital that acquires MD
Barrilero y Asociados has advised on the acquisition by the search fund Albor Capital of 100% of the Cantabrian company Manufacturas Deportivas (MD).
This is the first transaction carried out by Albor Capital, created two years ago by a group of investors, entrepreneurs and family offices mostly Spanish. With the purchase, Albor Capital has completed its first search period.
Founded in Santander more than sixty years ago, Manufacturas Deportivas specializes in the design, manufacture and assembly of street furniture, playgrounds and sports equipment and has a workforce of 40 employees. The company has an EBITDA margin of over 20%, has experienced annual growth of 25% in recent years and exports 35% of its production.
Ramón Martín, managing partner of Albor Capital, points out that the medium-term objective is to double MD’s turnover thanks to the new products being developed by the company and the entry into new countries. The growth of the Cantabrian company will be achieved either organically or through the acquisition of other companies in the same sector or complementary to the company’s activity.
The Barrilero team was formed by Joaquín Rodríguez Puerta and Gonzalo Escribano on the commercial side, and Iñigo Landín on the tax aspects.
