Baker Tilly España and Audalia Nexia announce strategic merger

Baker Tilly España, a consultancy and professional services firm, has announced a strategic merger with Audalia Nexia in a significant move to bolster its presence in the Spanish market. This integration enhances Baker Tilly’s footprint in Madrid, the nation’s key economic hub, while reinforcing its dedication to service excellence and talent development.

Following more than a year of careful analysis, the merger will enable both firms to combine their expertise and offer a broader and more diversified range of services at both local and international levels. With 45 years of industry experience and a team of 120 professionals, Audalia Nexia brings a wealth of knowledge that will complement Baker Tilly’s offerings in audit, consultancy, tax, and legal services.

The combined entity will now boast over 550 professionals across eight offices in Spain, generating nearly €60 million in revenue. This merger solidifies Baker Tilly España’s position as a top-tier player in the Spanish professional services market.

The company will continue to operate through its three primary divisions: Audit, Advisory, and Tax & Legal, with a strong focus on the technology, real estate, energy, and nonprofit sectors. The integration of Audalia Nexia will accelerate the firm’s digital transformation and enhance its capacity to deliver innovative solutions across these critical industries.

Xavier Mercadé, CEO of Baker Tilly España, highlighted the importance of this merger: “This marks a decisive strategic step in consolidating our presence in the Spanish market. We’ve achieved the critical mass and positioning we aimed for, particularly in Madrid, where we’ve significantly expanded and added complementary services. Audalia Nexia shares our values and culture, which made this partnership feel right from the very beginning.”

Javier López-Guerrero, Chairman of Baker Tilly, emphasized the synergy between the two firms: “The integration of Audalia’s team and capabilities with our strengths puts us in a robust position to tackle the challenges of the next level. Strategically, this merger aligns perfectly, and the addition of Audalia’s partners to our governance structure enhances our leadership model.”

Also Santiago Alió, representing Audalia Nexia, expressed enthusiasm for the merger: “After 45 years in the market, joining Baker Tilly allows us to become a benchmark for both international and local professional services in Spain. This decision stems from strategic priorities such as talent retention, investment in technology, and process digitalization, while providing growth opportunities for our team within a like-minded organization.”
