Ashurst appoints Alberto Manzanares as a litigation partner

Ashurst has announced the promotion of Alberto Manzanares Entrena to partner in the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration team in Madrid, effective 1 May 2025. Alberto joined Ashurst as a trainee in 2013 and has developed his entire career at the firm.

A member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Manzanares specialises in both domestic and international arbitration, civil litigation, and insolvency law. He is also part of the Restructuring and Special Situations team and regularly advises national and international clients on complex proceedings.

Manzanares has been recognised multiple times, including “Best Young Lawyer” nominations by Expansión Jurídico and being named Arbitration Lawyer of the Year (Under 40) at the 2023 Iberian Lawyer 40 Under Forty Awards. He is also recommended by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.

Alberto Manzanares holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and studied at Monash University in Melbourne. He currently teaches at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and IE Law School.

With this promotion, Ashurst’s Madrid office will have 15 partners and over 70 lawyers.
