Araoz & Rueda and Cuatrecasas instructed on BTC-Marypaz deal

Araoz & Rueda advised Black Toro Capital (BTC) on a €30 million investment in shoe retailer Marypaz, which instructed Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira.

The investment will give Black Toro Capital a 60 per cent controlling stake in Marypaz. A BTC statement said the investment will take the form of an initial €10 million equity injection into the company, as well as an additional €20m investment via a convertible security.

The investment will enable Marypaz to reduce fixed costs and improve its international supply chain.

The Araoz & Rueda team was led by partners Alejandro Fernández de Araoz and Guillermo Yuste, and included associate Andrés Mochales.

The Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira team advising Marypaz included partner Fernando Torrente and associate Camila Salazar-Simpson.
