Andersen welcomes new partners in Portugal
Andersen in Portugal is reinforcing its corporate/M&A department with the addition of Luís Moreira Cortez as a new partner in the Lisbon office and José Carlos Vasconcelos as a new local partner in the Porto office. Cortez comes from Coelho Ribeiro e Associados (CRA Law Portugal), where he was a partner, while Vasconcelos transits from Abreu Advogados, where he was a professional partner.
Luis Moreira Cortez has over 25 years of experience. He holds a law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University, a postgraduate degree from the same university in Forensic Practice and Legal Advice for Companies, and has also completed postgraduate studies in Sports Law at the University of Coimbra. Throughout his career, he has advised numerous private clients and major national and international companies in sectors such as mining and natural resources, finance, and sports law, among others.
José Carlos Vasconcelos holds a law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto and an MBA in Management for Lawyers from the same university. He has more than 25 years of experience in corporate and transactional advisory services for national and international clients, particularly in the healthcare, retail, and industrial sectors. He also provides support on a wide range of commercial contracts, including franchise, distribution, and agency agreements. He has advised multinational companies in due diligence processes, negotiations, and M&A transactions.
