Andersen integrates Legora

Andersen Iberia has reached an agreement with Legora, a generative artificial intelligence (GAI) platform specialising in the legal field, to implement its tool in the firm. The decision, which is part of the technological innovation strategy of the firm led by José Vicente Morote, comes after an extensive testing process of the main GAI tools available on the legal market, involving more than a hundred Andersen partners and professionals.

José Vicente Morote, managing partner of Andersen Iberia, expressed his satisfaction with the integration of Legora, saying, “The incorporation of this tool into our daily operations represents a significant evolution in terms of productivity and efficiency. For us, the incorporation of artificial intelligence is not a matter of fashion, but a strategic decision; we want to be more useful to our clients and offer our lawyers the most valuable tools so that they can devote themselves to what really adds value.”

Selection process

During the selection process, which took place throughout the first half of 2025, Andersen carried out three proof of concept (POC) tests to evaluate different solutions. The analysis focused on functional, technical and strategic aspects, with feedback from the users who participated in the trials. The project was led by the firm’s CIO, Miguel Espinosa, and the management of the LegalTech department, headed by Carlos Rodríguez Sau, with the support of the external artificial intelligence OTP 1Millionbot.

Miguel Espinosa, CIO of Andersen Iberia, points out that “technological innovation is in the firm’s DNA. Legora will allow us to optimise document analysis processes and ensure greater accuracy, speed and efficiency in our legal advice. With its incorporation, we reaffirm our commitment to digital transformation as a strategy for creating value for our clients and guaranteeing our professionals an optimal technological environment to enhance their talent.”

According to Carlos Rodríguez Sau, partner at Andersen, ‘beyond the technological capabilities of each of the tools and user experience criteria, one of the key elements we evaluated from a regulatory perspective was the legal resilience of service continuity and affinity with the special requirements of a profession subject to professional secrecy and the needs of our clients in regulated sectors, such as finance under DORA regulations or the specific sector of public administrations.’ He adds that ‘for us, it was also essential to be able to reconcile the chosen AI Legal Agent solution with our approach of using our own AI in infrastructures in the European Union. And, at the same time, that this Agent could, in the future, include OpenEuroLLM model options, such as the Spanish ALIA. The ultimate goal is to have a multimodal solution that includes a Sovereign EU option.’

According to Max Junestrand, CEO and co-founder of Legora, ‘when a firm with the prestige of Andersen adopts Legora on a large scale, it demonstrates that artificial intelligence is currently at the centre of the evolution of the legal profession. This collaboration represents Legora’s commitment to the Iberian market and it is a privilege to collaborate with Andersen on this journey.’
