Andersen integrates DAYA Abogados

Andersen has reached an agreement with DAYA Abogados by which this firm is integrated into the project of the international firm, which takes another step forward in its expansion strategy in Spain. With this incorporation, capacities and teams are expanded in the Madrid office, with great incidence in the tax department.

Incorporations

The new team is made up of more than 30 people and is led by the former founder of the firm, Javier Artíñano, who joins the tax department, which is also joined by Pablo Gómez-Acebo as a partner. Alicia Fuertes joins the M&A Department in the same capacity. Alejandro Miguélez and Miguel Ángel Sánchez in the tax department, Tomás Cortázar and Silvia Vázquez in the labor department, Begoña Power in the corporate department and Gonzalo Bonany in the litigation department also join the team. All of them have extensive experience in legal and tax advice and will contribute to the development of each of the practice areas they join.

With this integration, the firm exceeds 320 professionals (lawyers and economists) in Spain, expanding capabilities and strengthening synergies between all areas of the firm. The operation is part of the expansion process initiated by the firm with the approval of the Strategic Plan 2021-2023, which “has already surpassed all the milestones set and seeks to place the firm among the first in the legal market in Spain”.

José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre

This was explained by José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, managing partners of Andersen in Iberia, who emphasized that “we are integrating a firm with an impeccable track record of more than 30 years, with a very high technical quality and which allows us to continue to promote our Madrid office and, in particular, the tax area, which has added 12 new professionals to exceed 60 people in Spain”. “This is a key department that accounts for 20% of the firm’s turnover and which we want to continue to strengthen with the super-specialization in the area”, they said.

“Our growth objective is clear: to develop all practices seeking the highest quality and specialization and the incorporation of DAYA reaffirms this idea, making us, in addition, protagonists of one of the most relevant operations of the legal sector in Spain this year”, Morote and Rodríguez-Sastre have underlined.

At this point, they have clarified that the agreement with the firm, as in every incorporation, “is based on a shared culture, values, international vocation and business vision”. “A key issue to continue building a project for the future with a very marked culture, with a solid base and perfect gear, so that we are all a fundamental part of it,” said the managing partners, for whom “this is the only way to be able to offer the best service to the client.

Javier Artíñano

For his part, Javier Artíñano has highlighted this union that allows “to offer clients a broader advice, with capabilities in all areas and an unparalleled national and international coverage, while it is a new boost for the team, which joins one of the most dynamic firms in the market that offers new opportunities for the management of matters and services”.
